Welcome to ICFT2024!
ICFT2024 believes in openness, international collaboration, and the free flow of
talent and ideas. Meetings, conferences, and other events provide a forum for
the exchange of those technical and humanitarian conversations.
We believe in respect, compassion, understanding and inclusion. We expect all
community members to act in accordance with these values. Fostering the free
exchange of ideas requires building a conference that welcomes people of all
backgrounds. Diversity of opinion and background is a fundamental strength of
our community. The members of our community must have the freedom to espouse and
explore a wide range of ideas. Toward that goal, CEII is committed to providing
a safe, productive, and welcoming environment to all conference, event, and
meeting participants who engage with ICFT in these conversations.
The ICFT Codes of Conduct guides the expected, professional behavior of
conference participants, including:
1) Treating everyone with respect and consideration; under the umbrella of
respect, we expect all participants be mindful of their speech and behaviors
both in person and online.
2) Communicating openly and thoughtfully with others and being considerate of
the multitude of views and opinions that may be different than your own.
3) Being respectful and mindful in your critique of ideas.
4) Being mindful of your fellow participants.
5) Respecting participants wishes to not be photographed, respecting their
gender pronouns, respecting their space, and their right to engage or disengage
in conversation.
We believe disagreement and differences of opinion are a natural part of social
and academic life and are important to work through when building community and
learning from one another. At the same time, we acknowledge that societal power
structures are even more challenging in academia, which is an inherently
hierarchical community. In order to foster an environment of inclusion, we do
not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or abuse in any form. Participants who
engage in harassment may be removed from the conference at the discretion of the
organizers.
Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
1) Unwelcome comments regarding a person’s lifestyle choices and practices
2) Deliberate intimidation or antagonism
3) Exclusionary jokes or comments
4) Unwelcome sexual attention or physical contact
5) Sustained disruption of presentations, events, or online discussion
6) Continued one-on-one communication after requests to cease
7) Comments that reinforce social structures of domination (gender identity and
expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size,
race, age, religion)
8) Threats of violence.
Harassment behavior will not be tolerated. If you are
asked to stop Harassing inappropriately, you should comply immediately. If you
see or are the target of inappropriate behavior or language, you can report
anonymously by sending email toconduct@icft.ccand we will take appropriate action to
ensure the event maintains a safe and constructive environment. Event
organizers retain the right to take any actions to keep the event a
welcoming environment for all participants. This includes warning the
offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund or further
access. We expect participants to follow these rules at all virtual
event venues and event-related social activities.
